Podere Riparbella
Riparbella is located in the Maremma region of Tuscany. From beneath our wine covered pergola, guests enjoy a sweeping view across the olive groves to the medieval town of Massa Marittima and beyond to the mountains of Elba and Corsica rising over the bay of Follonica. Riparbella is surrounded by 46 ecologically tended hectares of fields and forests. Fragrant beds of herbs and the vegetable garden lay just beyond the pergola. From there a path winds down through the woods to our vinyards.

Christian is an architect, renovation expert and wine producer.
It had been our long-time dream to produce quality wines and olive oil in a place where we could also welcome guests, so in the early nineties we started searching for such a place. Podere Riparbella was a real Sleeping Beauty: its buildings were in poor condition, the fields had been neglected. But the promise sleeping here was undeniable. We renovated the buildings, rejunvenated the olive groves, and planted new vinyards.
With the advice and financial support of friends in the north, we were finally able to welcome our first guests to Riparbella in 1997. Right from the start we wanted to manage both the agricultural and the hospitality business in the most ecologically responsible way possible. The enthusiasm of our guests, the prizewinning reception of our wines and oils, as well as the support of our dedicated team members has kept us going strong.

Rosella Artusio
came to us 7 years ago when she moved with her family from Piemont to Tuscany. She is the good spirit of our kitchen and prepares everything with flavor and skill. With a big smile the also serves you an aperitivo and you may also see her in the vinyards!
Monica Bartalini
our „mountain girl“ from Gerfalco (780 m alt.), has been with us for 16 years. After a short time managing the breakfast room, Monica transitioned to production work, and has become Christian‘s righthand woman in the vinyards, wine cellar, and vegetable garden.
Massimo Fanti
a genuine „Massetano“, has been here 15 years and works just about everywhere: in the wine cellar, the vinyards, the olive groves. He is the only person besides Christian allowed to drive the tractor!
Angela Orlandini
has been with us for 19 years. She takes care of the breakast and the house. She is also the proud cook of
of ourwonderful marmalades and jams.
Gian-Luca Ottaviano
has been our „go-to“hard-working man for the last 9 years. Wherever fields need mowing, post holes need digging, trees need felling, Gian-Luca is there.
Lucia Vitali
has been with us the longest. Since she came looking for a housekeeping job 20 years ago, she has branched out to breakfast preparation - wonderfully decorated buffets - and customer care. Her wonderful dessert recipes are her great pride.
